Reading top scorer Harvey Knibbs has been linked with a move away before the transfer window slams shut on Thursday.
The 24-year-old signed a three-year deal in the summer and has kept up his good relationship with former Cambridge United teammate Sam Smith.
Scoring the equaliser against Leyton Orient on Saturday, the Aston Villa youngster has netted 12 this season in all competitions, including a hattrick against rivals Swindon Town in the EFL Trophy.
Nelson Abbey, Nesta Guinness-Walker and Tom Holmes have all signed for other clubs in this window, although Holmes has re-joined his boyhood club on loan until the end of the season.
Fellow defender Tom McIntyre is on the brink of agreeing a move to League One leaders Portsmouth for just £75,000.
