Reading chief executive, Dayong Pang, did his first public interview on TalkSPORT and called for fans to 'be patient' over the sale of the club.

A close associate of disgraced owner Dai Yogge, he replaced Nigel Howe in the role 2020.

The only nearest contact to owner Yongge, who has never spoken publicly since taking over in 2017, he went on the record to discuss the selling process and the fans' actions on Saturday, getting the match with Port Vale abandoned by running onto the pitch.

Speaking with Jim White, he said: "I share the frustration about the selling process.

"But the reaction has done nothing good for the club, and it has done nothing good for the selling process.

"The selling process is undergoing. I please ask our fans [to] be more patient. It takes time. Please be patient."

Close to agreeing to exclusivity before Christmas, it is reported that Yongge changed the terms of a deal late in the negotiation stage and now the club are no closer to a sale than when first put up for sale in September.
