Reading legend James Harper has joined The Dave Kitson Academy as a coach.

Harper signed for the Royals in 2001 and went on to make nearly 350 appearances for the club, scoring 26 goals.

The midfielder, now 43, was a key part of the Reading team that won the Championship with a record 106 points in 2006 and secured promotion to the Premier League for the first time in the club's history.

He started his career at Arsenal and, after nine years with Reading, he went on to play for a host of other clubs, including Sheffield United, Hull City, Wycombe Wanderers, Doncaster Rovers, Basingstoke Town, Hungerford Town, Uxbridge and Ascot United - who he joined in 2021.

Harper has teamed up again with former Reading striker Dave Kitson by joining the coaching team at The Dave Kitson Academy.

Kitson is fully booked for coaching sessions in January, but Harper is available for one to one, small group and large group coaching sessions in January, and Kitson and Harper are available to coach individually - or as a pair - for one to one and group coaching sessions throughout February.

If you or the team you play for is interested in being coached by Dave Kitson or James Harper, more information is available at www.davekitsonacademy.com
