Reading have been removed from an EFL embargo after settling an overdue payment to HMRC, according to the EFL embargo reporting service.
The Royals have failed to pay HMRC on time at all this season, with two winding-up petitions already lodged against them.
Usually paying them weeks late, Dai Yongge managed to settle November's payment earlier than usual, but it was still late and saw the club plunged into a temporary embargo.
This comes the same month as staff were paid late- the third time this has happened this season.
The Royals remain under embargo until 2025 for exceeding the limit for days overdue to HMRC in a calendar year, now into triple figures for days outstanding when the limit is 80.
Reading must still face an independent panel while Yongge has a personal charge from the EFL hanging over him.
There are still hopes that the club are to be sold soon, although negotiations are still underway.
