Reading were dumped out of the FA Cup by non-league side Eastleigh live on national television, the second exit at the hands of a non-league side in three years after Kidderminster Harriers beat the Royals in 2021.

Here are the ratings from the Silverlake Stadium.

Joel Pereira; 7: Quite something when a keeper concedes twice to a side two leagues below you but is still among the best players on the team. Made two excellent saves to ensure Reading went into the 90th minute with a chance of scraping a replay.

Amadou Mbengue, 5: Erratic and lost concentration for the first goal. Struggled to get going in an offensive or defensive direction all afternoon.

Tom Holmes, 5: Was denied an obvious penalty but needed to be stronger at times. Rough and tumble of National League footballers got the better of League One Reading on the day.

Clinton Mola, 4: Really struggled in what was his first start for months. The left-hand side of defence were terrorised all afternoon, with Mola and Matt Carson beaten too easily.

Matt Carson, 4: Looked really out of his depth and was too easy to get past all afternoon. Had very little support from his winger though, leaving him exposed constantly.

Charlie Savage, 6: Took a bit of time to get going but improved as the game wore on. Was taken off just as he began to take control of the midfield with his passing range.

Michael Craig, 5: Not as effective as he has been in recent weeks, but won the ball on occasion and tidied up well. A big learning curve for the youngster.

Harvey Knibbs, 4: Very quiet day at the office for the in-form midfielder. One of the star performers in recent weeks, the fan favourite was having an off-day throughout.

Femi Azeez, 7: Took his goal well and was brave, taking people on and trying his luck from range. End product still leaves something to be desired.

Kelvin Ehibhatiomhan, 4: Struggled up top on his own all afternoon and got little service. Needed someone to help him, but nothing was coming his way.

Ben Elliott, 4: Out of position and out of the game. Struggled with the physicality and intensity and was pulled off at half-time.

Substitutes

Harlee Dean, 6: Looked to keep the intensity up and loved to drive forward and maintain attacks. One of the better cameos from the experienced defender.

Paul Mukariu, 5: A disappointing addition, as we have seen the quality is there but failed to produce it in Hampshire. Looked to be direct but failed to create much of note.

Lewis Wing, 6: Was a key part of the visiting dictating much of the play in the second half, twisting the screw with his vision. Should have done better with a shot from inside the box.

Sam Smith, 6: Played the lone striker role expertly and had plenty of chances fall his way. Needed to score with his header from close range, but fired it over the bar.
