Highly-regarded goalkeeper coach Sal Bibbo is reportedly set to join Championship strugglers Sheffield Wednesday.

Bibbo, who played seven times for the Royals in the late 1990s, was a key member of the coaching staff in Berkshire for both Premier League promotions in 2006 and 2012.

During his near-decade at the SCL Stadium, the likes of Adam Federici, Alex McCarthy and Marcus Hahnemann all passed under Bibbo's wing.

Controversially departing in 2015, he went on to spend nearly five years with Arsenal and work with World Cup winner Emiliano Martinez and Chelsea legend Petr Cech.

According to Rob Staton of BBC Radio Sheffield, the former Sheffield United shot-stopper is poised to link up with Danny Rohl's side at Hillsborough.

The Owls sit rock-bottom of the second tier after last year's dramatic promotion, nine points adrift of safety.
