The match is the first season in which away supporters have been housed above home fans since the stadium was opened in 1998.
The incident happened after former Royal Chris Martin had equalised in the second half.
The club has since confirmed to the Reading Chronicle that four arrests have been made by Thames Valley Police in connection to the incident.
Reading FC also confirmed a supporter, who was an adult, was offered medical assistance after the incident but declined.
Thames Valley Police are yet to confirm the arrests or respond to requests for comment.
