Reading legend Dave Kitson is to write an exclusive weekly column for the Reading Chronicle, starting tomorrow!

A bargain signing from Cambridge United in 2003, nobody has scored more goals in RG2 than Kitson, and the 43-year-old will forever remain in the history books as the Royals' first top-flight goal scorer.

Every week, club legend Kitson gives his views and opinions on the current state of affairs at his former club.

He’ll also be providing updates and news from his soon-to-be-launched football academy – The Dave Kitson Academy – including details of how Reading Chronicle readers can claim discounted and free places and be among the first to be part of the academy.

As a small business owner in the area, setting up the Dave Kitson Academy, his views and hot take will go further than just matters at the SCL Stadium.

Kitson sits down with iconic former owner Sir John Madejski in his first edition, out in tomorrow's edition of The Reading Chronicle before being published online, in full, later in the day.

Speaking before his first edition, Kitson told the Reading Chronicle: "Reading FC continues to play an incredibly important role in my life and I’m delighted to be able to offer what I hope will be a unique perspective on the club through my weekly column, as well as updates on the new Dave Kitson Academy and a host of other projects that I’m involved in around the town that I very much hope people will be inspired to become involved with.”
