Southampton have confirmed the signing of 16-year-old Thierry Rohart-Brown from Reading for an undisclosed fee.

The teenager was involved in a swap deal, with 18-year-old Dominic Ballard joining Reading on loan in exchange.

Ballard has already scored three times for the Royals this season, including a brace over Exeter City in a 9-0 win.

After a thorough process, Rohart-Brown has been officially unveiled and will link up with the Saints Under-18s while contiuing his education.

Southampton Academy Director Andy Goldie said: "We are excited to welcome Thierry and his family to the Academy. After an extensive process by Jack Chapman, Simon Jones and our scouting team, Thierry was our top target given his versatility across our midfield profiles and potential for growth, which we look forward to supporting him with over the coming years.

"Thanks must also go to Mark Bowen and Michael Gilkes at Reading, who have been incredibly supportive and professional throughout the process."
