Reading came from behind to beat high-flying Bolton Wanderers 2-1.
Here are the player ratings from the much-needed win.
David Button, 7: Made some excellent saves and helped keep his side in the game during a slow first half. A few times where perhaps he could have commanded his box more, but cannot criticise the shot-stopping.
Andy Yiadom, 7: Best performance for a while from the captain. Defensively sound and always looking to drive the side forward. The Andy Yiadom of old.
Tyler Bindon, 6: Made a shaky start upon his return to had a solid afternoon. Needed to do better with the Wanderers' goal, but recovered and looked stronger as the afternoon wore on.
Nelson Abbey, 7: Composed performance from the youngster, who was able to see off attacks with his recovery pace. For a central parternship made of teenagers, Abbey and Bindon continue to prove doubters wrong.
Clinton Mola, 6: A steady home debut for the full-back. Started slow and looked a tad lost, but improved as the game went on and put in a good shift.
Sam Hutchinson, 7: Another calm and composed performance from the experienced head in midfield. Went about his business calmly and quietly, breaking play up and spraying 'Hollywood' passes from his deeper-lying role.
Charlie Savage, 7: Full of energy and endeavour, as we have become accustomed to. Set pieces slightly below his usual standard, but the youngster more than made up for it with his show-stopping equaliser from distance.
Harvey Knibbs, 6: Another quiet afternoon from the summer signing, who did little to catch the eye. Kept things ticking over but was below par.
Femi Azeez, 7: Another slow burner who grew into the game, the winger got into some excellent positions but still lacks the end product. Almost broke the crossbar with his powerful drive in the first half.
Kelvin Ehibhatiomhan, 6: Hold up play was superb was never truly got and sights on goal. Did everything right, but the ball never fell for him.
Dominic Ballard, 6: Started very brightly, catching Bolton short with his bursts of pace. Looked to shoot whenever possible. Looks an exciting one for the season.
Substitutes
Paul Mukariu, 7: One of two additions to shift the momentum of the game, the summer signing was fearless and looked to commit defenders at every opportunity. Hope to see more of the Copenhagen loanee.
Ben Elliott, 7: Superb cameo from the Chelsea youngster, who Bolton could not handle. Intelligent in possession, the midfielder had all the tricks and flicks in his locker.
Tom McIntyre, 6: Very solid cameo from the fan favourite, who dealt with his man comfortably and looked to keep attacks going whenever possible.
Amadou Mbengue, 6: Similar to McIntyre, used to crowd and shift in momentum to keep attacks going. Had the burst of speed to cover any forward attempting to run past him.
Caylan Vickers, 7: After coming close multiple times this season, you won't find a more popular match-winner than 18-year-old Vickers. After a decade in the youth ranks, the midfielder is taking his chances with both hands.
