Manchester City midfielder Lewis Fiorini and Fulham's Jay Stansfield are among Reading's loan targets, according to national reports.

Fiorini, on loan at Blackpool last season, has piqued the Royals' interest repeatedly over the summer as Ruben Selles remains keen to bolster a shallow midfield.

Meanwhile, Stansfield hit nine goals in 39 appearances for Exeter City last season and looks unlikely to force his way into Fulham's Premier League side.

Yet to dip into the loan market, Reading can have five temporary players in any given matchday squad.

According to Darren Witcoop of the Sunday Mirror, the pair are among the targets in Berkshire but face competition from other sides.

However with news of a fresh transfer embargo for HMRC-related issues, Witcoop adds that any deals have been put 'on hold.'

Four additions have been made in recent weeks, with the likes of Charlie Savage and Sam Smith joining the new League One club.
