Former Brentford captain Harlee Dean and Reading forward Chris Martin are among potential targets for the Royals, according to reports.

Still only looking at loans and free agents, the pool of potential options in the three weeks before the season starts is dwindling.

Both vastly experienced, Martin and Dean have over 1000 professional appearances between them.

Best known for spells with Derby County and Brentford respectively, both are in the twlight of their careers.

Martin spent last season with Queens Park Rangers while Dean was on loan in League One with Sheffield Wednesday from Birmingham City.

According to Darren Witcoop of the Sunday Mirror- "Harlee Dean, Charlie Savage and Chris Martin all among potential recruits. Players also have interest elsewhere so no deals close at the moment."

Martin spent the second half of the 2017/18 campaign with the Royals, scoring once in 10 appearances.

Harvey Knibbs and Sam Smith remain the only two additions in the summer window to date.

Ruben Selles admitted he would like 10 new signings by the end of the window next month.
