Reading have had their EFL embargoes cleared after paying HMRC in full.

The club had been issued a winding-up petition by HMRC, and set a date in court of August 9, however on Wednesday evening (12/7) the remaining figure was paid.

This has since seen the third embargo fall from the EFL embargo reporting service, following the removal of payment of loan players and FFP issues which were resolved last week.

Enabling more movement in the transfer window, it is expected to be a busy few days as the club prepare for a friendly in front of supporters against Sutton United on Saturday.

Incoming boss Ruben Selles is in the final stages of acquiring his visa, with positive news on his appointment expected in the coming days.

However, uncertainty still remains over the long-term future of the club.

Some transfer restrictions are likely to come back into force in the coming weeks as the EFL pass new laws on late payment to HMRC and players.

The EFL are also still in discussions after the Royals were charged with paying their staff late on three separate occasions, as well as charging owner Dai Yongge personally too.
