Reading FC are set to appoint Rubén Sellés as their new manager.
The 40-year-old is expected to be announced by the end of the month or sooner, as the Royals prepare for their first season in the third tier of English football for the first time in over 20 years.
The Spaniard would replace Paul Ince who was fired in April, with former Reading hero Noel Hunt taking temporary charge until the end of the season.
Sellés’ expected move to Berkshire comes one month after he departed Southampton, who were relegated from the Premier League after an 11-year stay.
He won just two of his 17 fixtures in charge as the Saints had four separate managerial changes during the 2022/23 campaign (with Sellés being two of them), as they accumulated just 25 points in the season – their lowest total since 1970.
