Reading FC have found out their respective opponents for this season’s Football League Trophy.
The Royals will take on Swindon Town of League Two, fellow League One counterparts in Exeter City, and an Under 21 Premier League side, with the latter being announced on June 22.
The fixture against Exeter will be the first time since 1994 that the two teams will face each other in a competitive capacity, with the Thames Valley side defeating the South West outfit 47 times from their 82 encounters.
It will also be the first match between the two that will not be played in the league.
Additionally, the clash versus Swindon will be the first time since 2002 that they will meet, with Reading winning 36 of the 95 encounters.
Fixtures are currently scheduled to take place in midweek evenings on the weeks commencing September 4, October 9 and November 13.
