Reading chief Dayong Pang has stated that there are still 'significant financial challenges' facing the club this summer.
Much anger and tension has build among the fanbase as the wait goes on for a first-team manager.
However, this has been only exacerbated by news that Head of Scouting Jared Dublin is to depart the club and the recent announcement that the club are set to be punished for not paying wages.

Dayong Pang thanks fans for their patience this summer and offers an update on the search for a new manager and the challenges we continue to face and are striving to resolve as a club.
Releasing an open letter yesterday, Pang alluded to financial issues facing the club, but insisted that owner Dai Yongge is trying to fix them.
"As a club, financially we continue to face a number of significant challenges and our owner, Mr Dai, is working very hard to resolve those issues to ensure the future of Reading Football Club is stable, successful, progressive and positive," he said.
...
"Long term, I am confident we have the right people at the club to achieve our ambitions and fully correct the mistakes that were made many years ago."
It remain to be seen what 'financial challenges' Pang is referencing, and what impact this will have on the club in the near future.
Yongge took over in spring 2017 and his tenure has been littered with financial mismanagement.
Staring down the barrel of a fourth successive season under a transfer embargo, the club has suffered points deductions in the last couple of seasons for breaching Profit and Sustainability regulations.
The Royals are now facing a first season in the third tier since 2001/02, and have just seven first-team players on the books.
It is under a fortnight before pre-season is due to begin.
