Reading will learn their Carabao Cup and EFL Trophy opponents next Thursday as attention turns to the new season.
Still without a manager and first-team players seemingly intent on leaving the club, supporters have not had much to get excited about since relegation was confirmed next month.
But with fixture release day just seven days away, fans can dream of exciting cup ties and fun away days from August.
As part of the EFL’s fixture release day, the Round One draw for the Carabao Cup and Group Stage draw for the EFL Trophy will take place live on Sky Sports.
The Carabao Cup Round One draw will take place live on Sky Sports from 2:30pm.
Stevenage knocked Paul Ince's young Royals side in the first round last season.
It marked Kelvin Ehibhatiomhan's first professional goal, but Steve Evans' side grabbed a late winner to snatch the game 2-1.
The Round One draw will see teams drawn in Northern and Southern sections, with matches scheduled to take place w/c August 7.
Premier League teams not competing in Europe join from Round Two, while every team will have entered by Round Three.
Ties will be regionalised.
The EFL Trophy Group Stage draw will take place earlier, live on Sky Sports from 11:30am.
All EFL Clubs will play two of their three matches at home in the Group Stages, with U21 teams away from home in all three fixtures.

This will be the first time Reading will have entered a first-team into the competition since 2001/02, losing out to Barnet in the regional quarter-final.
Scott Marshall entered an Academy side in 2016/17, losing to Yeovil Town in the second knockout phase.
