Michail Antonio has become just the fourth former Reading star to lift a European trophy after West Ham lifted the UEFA Conference League last night.

The 33-year-old started in Prague as Jarrod Bowen's 90th-minute winner earned the Hammers a first trophy for over 40 years.

Beginning his career in non-league with Tooting and Mitcham, Reading made him professional in 2008 and he made 33 appearances before departing in 2012.

Making his name with the likes of Sheffield Wednesday and Nottingham Forest, the Jamaica international has made over 250 appearances for the Irons since his 2015 move.

Taking to social media after the win, he said: "Five years ago I was playing non league football and now I’m here. Everyone has opinions but ultimately it’s yours that matters the most."

Reading Chronicle:

He joins former England midfielder Neil Webb and Portugal international Daniel Carrico in lifting major European gongs after spells in Berkshire.

Webb, who started his career with his hometown club, lifted the Cup Winners' Cup and Super Cup in 1991 with Manchester United.

Carrico played just three games in 2013 and was deemed a flop with the Royals, but has won a four Europa League titles with Sevilla.

Ryan Bertrand, only a loan signing in 2009, lifted the Champions League with Chelsea over a decade ago.
