Reading are facing untested waters this season as they line up in League One for the first time since 2002.

One thing that remains consistent is the club's much-loved Academy, a proud arm of the club for supporters.

Take a look below at three youngsters who could have big season's in the third tier from August.

Reading Chronicle:

Jay Senga

Reading's first Belgian, the powerful midfielder became the latest off of the production line to make his first team debut on the final day of last season.

Still only 19, he was a regular under Noel Hunt in the Under-21s and appeared on five benches throughout the campaign.

Paul Ince, a former England captain and Manchester United midfielder, said: "Jay Senga is still 18 but I think he will be a very good player, providing he’s with the right people and doing the right things."

Reading Chronicle:

John Clarke

Another teenager, Clarke was picked up from Port Vale last summer and was a regular in Ince's squad early on.

Making four appearances, including three in the league, the defender suffered an injury and missed most of the second half of the season.

A big character, Clarke will no doubt look to become a regular squad player in League One.

Reading Chronicle:

Michael Craig

A Scotland youth international who spent seven years with Tottenham, Craig arrived last summer and featured three times in the first team.

A dependable midfielder who protects the ball with his life, he caught the eye of Ince last season.

"I like Craigy. He’s very efficient at what he does. He has a very good understanding of the game; when to press, when to pass and what spaces to go into. They’re all things you need to be a top midfield player," he said earlier in the year.
