It was a contrast of emotions at the Select Car Leasing Stadium as Chelsea's glory was sat next to Reading's despair at being consigned to relegation.

Emma Hayes' Blues cruised to a 3-0 win in Berkshire to lift the silverware in front of a large contingent of travelling supporters- outnumbering those supporting Kelly Chambers' outfit.

Walking out in a guard of honour for over 20 years service to the club, Chambers found her team behind within 20 minutes as Sam Kerr headed hme the first.

Mayi Kith's mistake was pounced upon by Guro Reiten to make it two shortly before the half-time break.

Playing out like a testimonial, but defending valiantly, Kerr added her second with five minutes remaining after hitting the post at the first attempt.

Mirroring the men's side, Reading will be playing in the division below for the first time in almost  decade.

Without an away point all season and ending with no wins in 2023, Reading ended the campaign five points adrift at the bottom of the table.
