Former Reading midfielder Charlie Adam is interested in taking over at boyhood club Dundee, according to reports.

The Scottish veteran spent the 2019/20 season in Berkshire, playing 27 times, but is best known for his seven year spell with Stoke City.

Retiring as a player in 2022 with Dundee, the 'Scottish Pirlo' is Under-23 coach and loans manager for Premier League new boys Burnley.

According to the Daily Record, Adam has not applied for the role, but 'would be open to talks.'

The report goes on to claim that it 'take something special for him to entice him away.'

Former Blackpool and Blackburn Rovers boss, Gary Bowyer, was the man who lead the club back to the Scottish Premiership this season, but has already departed Dens Park.

Former St Johnstone boss Callum Davidson had been heavily linked, but the 46-year-old has turned down the opportunity.
