Reading favourite Yakou Meite is discussing a new contract, despite relegation to League One.
The Ivorian joined in 2016 and has played nearly 150 times since his move from PSG.
The 27-year-old has endured an injury-hit couple of season, scoring just four goals last season, but has endeared himself to the fans with his attitude and knack of scoring vital goals.
Set to become a free agent, Meite is 'in discussions with the club around the potential offer.'
Taking to social media after the last home match of the season, a 1-1 draw with Wigan Athletic, Meite said: "Just want to say a huge thank you to all of you! The support was incredible. Last home game with a goal means so much for me . We wanted to win that game but its not done yet, keep believing."
Supporters took that as meaning he had played his final home match as a Reading player, although he went on to tell BBC Berkshire that he will need to discuss his future with the club.
Junior Hoilett and Amadou Mbengue have both been offered new contracts to remain in RG2.
