Reading boss Noel Hunt has called on his players to complete 'the great escape' as they stare at relegation.

With two matches remaining, both against relegation rivals, the Royals are now dependant on other results around them.

A player for five years in Berkshire, Hunt is calling on 'underdog' spirit to keep the team in the Championship.

"It’s a great escape. We’re used to be underdogs, we have been for all the time I was here as a player," he said ahead of a clash with his former club, Wigan Athletic. "I want us to go with the mentality that we outwork if we can, out fight and out run teams. Hopefully Saturday will be no different. We will go out there with the mentality that we can go and press and be aggressive, like we have for the last couple of home games. We’re at home- that’s where I believe we can play, get success and win games of football."

A 2012 Championship winner with the club, Hunt is not used to battling at the wrong end of tables with Reading.
