Reading find themselves in a perilous situation of Championship relegation, sitting in the bottom three with two matches remaining.

Hosting bottom club Wigan Athletic and travelling to 21st Huddersfield Town in the coming fortnight, their fate is now out of their hands.

But, it is still possible for Noel Hunt to lead the great escape.

What do they need to do?

SIX POINTS FROM SIX

If Reading were to beat both the Latics and the Terriers, Neil Warnock's Huddersfield Town will need to win their games against Cardiff City and Sheffield United.

Cardiff City, sat in 20th and three points clear of Reading, will need just beat either Huddersfield or Rotherham United.

The Millers, in 19th, need just one win in their final three fixtures to confirm a second successive season in the second tier.

This also applies to 18th-place Queens Park Rangers.

Reading Chronicle:

Beat WIGAN, DRAW WITH HUDDERSFIELD

Huddersfield will need to win one their two matches to ensure a final day stalemate would benefit the hosts.

Both Cardiff and Rotherham would need two points from two matches to edge the Royals, while this would fall to one point for QPR.

Reading Chronicle:

Draw WITH WIGAN, BEAT HUDDERSFIELD

Huddersfield would need to pick up four points out of six to render a final day win in Yorkshire useless.

Similar to the last scenario, the Millers and Bluebirds need two while the R's one.

Reading Chronicle:

LOSE TO WIGAN, BEAT HUDDERSFIELD

The Terriers will need just one win from their next two matches- or potentially only two should they add to their goal difference- in order to secure their safety ahead of the final day.

Cardiff and Rotherham would need a single point, while defeat on Saturday will ensure QPR's place in the Championship next season.
