Burnley boss Vincent Kompany has called the potential talk of an EFL investigation a 'non-story.'
It had been claimed last week that Huddersfield Town boss Neil Warnock has complained to the EFL regarding Kompany's decision to make six changes in a 0-0 draw with Reading.
Having already secured promotion, Noel Hunt's side secured a point to preserve the 106 points record.
It is believed that the Football League have asked the Clarets for their 'observations', however regulations only require a club to include at least 10 players on a team sheet that featured the week before- Burnley had 14.
When quizzed on the topic, the Manchester City legend said: "I think it’s a non-story. There’s not much to add. It’s wasted paper. I think it’s a distraction. It’s really nothing more than that and it’s a dogfight at the bottom of the league and I can understand that everybody is trying to gain an edge, but we’re not concerned with any of it.”
Despite wrapping up promotion weeks ago, the league title is still undecided after dropping points to Rotherham United and QPR.
Huddersfield host Reading on the final day of the season, with just a point separating the teams as things stand.
