New Reading boss Noel Hunt admits that the club's 106-point record will be in his first team talk as opponents Burnley look to break it.
Steve Coppell's side roared into the Premier League in 2006, losing just two matches and accumulating a record 106 points.
Standing for over 15 years, Vincent Kompany's Claret's can finish on 108 by winning their remaining five fixtures.
Meeting at the SCL Stadium on Saturday, Hunt admits it will be drilled into his players before the clash.
"100 per cent [in team talk]. People say records are there to be broken, but why can’t we try and stop that on Saturday. It’s so important that the players are aware that it’s our record, and one that we’re very proud of. We want to do everything we can to hold onto it."
He led #ReadingFC to the title in 2005/06, where they went 33-games unbeaten and won a record 106 points.

And after 10,000 votes, you have crowned Steve Coppell as the Championship GOAT Gaffer 🐐👔 #GOATGaffers https://t.co/Y5YVSnUkOC pic.twitter.com/sumfBy3fjV
A Championship winner with Reading himself in 2012, Noel's brother Stephen was a key member of the 2006 record-breaking team, his first season with the club after a move from Brentford.
A topic thrown at young striker Kelvin Ehibhatiomhan, who scored his first league goal for the club at Deepdale on Monday, the 19-year-old wants to do his bit too.
"I am definitely aware. We have to put up a fight and do as well as we can. It will be good to try and preserve some of the club's history if we can."
