Unfortunately the new era under Noel Hunt will continue with the theme of the old regime, injuries.

As many as eight first-team players remain out for the visit of top-of-the-table Burnley on Saturday.

The likes of Ovie Ejaria, Baba Rahman, Shane Long, Tom Ince, Tom McIntyre, Dean Bouzanis and Junior Hoilett will all miss the vast majority of the season- if not all of it.

Rumours were flying around online after some supporters thought missing man Ejaria was spotted in training photos- however they were mistaken as Hunt has confirmed he is unlikely to play a part for the rest of the season.

"If anything, he might get the last game, but I doubt it," the Irishman said. "They’re out on the grass, but still a bit away. I’ve had meetings with the boys and they’re all itching to get and help. Junior, Shane, TMac, they’re all trying to push themselves back before time to get back and help the team. Tom Ince as well, I spoke to him a couple of times already, and he’s trying his best to get back out on the grass even though his injury is a hard one- which shows what a good pro he is."

It is unknown whether Yakou Meite, who missed out in Monday's trip to Preston, will be available for selection.
