The Royals travel to Ashton Gate after a two week break from football.
Here is everything you need to know.
Form
Andy Carroll’s late first half equaliser against Hull City last time out ensured that Paul Ince’s side ended a losing run in the Championship.
Despite the draw, the Royals remain without a win since February, with the point against Hull meaning that Reading went the whole of March without a victory.
Reading sit in 18th place after their recent results, and with much uncertainty around the club, the nine-point gap to Huddersfield in the relegation zone could become much smaller very quickly.
Ince’s side face a Bristol City side who have had mixed results of late, having picked up four points in their last five games, with three defeats in those matches.
However, a twelve-game unbeaten run in all competitions across January and February meant the Robins moved away from the relegation zone and are now 12 points away from both the play-offs and relegation zone.
They come into this game on the back of a 2-0 defeat in South Wales to Swansea City with Nigel Pearson’s side looking respond this afternoon.
Team News
Paul Ince revealed that both Tom Ince and Scott Dann are serious doubts ahead of today’s clash at Ashton Gate.
Andy Carroll is struggling with a groin injury so could be out, whilst Ovie Ejaria is out for the season.
The good news for Royals fans is that Yakou Meite is in contention to return to the squad against Bristol City.
Last Time Out: Reading 2-0 Watford; Saturday, February 4, 2023
Reading claimed all three points in the reverse fixture against Bristol City at the Select Car Leasing Stadium.
Second half goals from Mamadou Loum and Andy Carroll was enough for Paul Ince’s side to claim victory against the Robins.
