Reading boss Paul Ince is 'not interested' in claims that Tom Ince's antics against Hull City were 'negative'.

The top scorer was spotted berating vice-captain Tom Holmes after a misplaced pass, volleying the ball up the other end of the field in frustration.

Coming from behind to end a four-match losing run and draw 1-1 with Hull City, there was plenty of frustration both on and off the pitch.

Reading Chronicle:

Quizzed on the actions of his son post-match, Ince said: "I’ve got no take on it whatsoever. They’re good mates and teammates. If someone does something wrong, they’ve got to be accountable for it. I don’t see a big deal about it."

BBC Berkshire's Tim Dellor pressed on with the matter, and the former England captain gave a fiery response.

"Now isn’t the time to make negative thoughts or talk about negative stuff. We’ve got to be positive. We’ve got eight games to keep this ****** team in the league. I’m not interested in Tom Ince or Tom Holmes or a row or body language, I’m not interested that ****. I’m interested in getting my injuries back, getting some rest in these players legs and go again against Bristol City on April 1."

Former England striker, and the Royals' goal scorer against the Tigers, Andy Carroll was also asked his opinion on the matter.

"Some of the lads have to get some stick and some need an arm around them. You’ve got to know which ones and how to control it," he said. "Tom’s the way he is, and he’ll never change it. He wants to win, and he comes out a little bit more aggressive, everyone is different, and we deal with it. We know what he’s about.

"It shows how much we want to win, the passion. Everyone’s getting a bit angry with each other when they’re doing mistakes or when they’re not doing what we know they can do. If Tom having a go at me when I lost the ball, he knows I’m better than that. It goes on with the whole team, it’s not just Tom it’s myself and the rest of us. Everyone’s got to keep encouraging or having a go at someone when they’re good enough or not good enough."
