Reading boss Paul Ince admits he 'hasn't got a clue' if or when the EFL may deduct the club six points.

News broke in the national newspapers last month regarding a possible deduction for previous historical misdemeanours.

Ince hinted previously that it was imminent, however there is still no news from the Football League.

Following a 2-1 defeat to Blackburn Rovers, just nine games remain in the 2022/23 season.

Speaking after the match at Ewood Park, he said: "It’s still hanging over our heads. There’s the stuff with Wigan, that’s come out, so I’m not sure. I’m not sure if they’ll wait until after the Hull game and do it then, I haven’t got a clue. All I know is that we have to keep looking after ourselves and picking points up. It’s five [defeats] on the bounce now, which is disappointing.

"You’re thinking you’re still pretty clear and on any other day where we are now we would be pretty comfortable staying in the Championship. We look at what these players have done, with a budget that has been cut enormously. To be sitting on 44 points at this stage of the season is a fantastic achievement, but you’ve still got six points hanging over you. You should be sitting there thinking we’re comfortable, and the next you’re thinking that in a week or two’s time we could be in a relegation battle. That’s what makes it disappointing when you don’t pick up points when you should have picked them up."
