Reading Academy graduate Tom McIntyre has hit 100 club appearances since making his debut in December 2018.

The 24-year-old has been a regular under Paul Ince and a real fan favourite.

From having a season ticket in RG2 to scoring there, the Scotland youth international has had some great moments in blue and white.

Here are just four.

Debut

At the club since the age of 10, McIntyre became the 48th club Academy graduate as the squad, under the management of interim boss Scott Marshall, made his debut against Rotherham United.

Sam Baldock put the Royals ahead in the first 10 minutes, only for Joe Mattock to equalise in stoppage time and keep the visitors above the relegation zone on just goal difference.

Winning man of the match and fracturing his skull- it was certainly a baptism of fire at the New York Stadium.

First goal

Playing just 14 times in the 2019/20 season, Veljko Paunovic made McIntyre a regular during the Covid-19 season behind-closed-doors.

Topping the table in the early stages of the 2020/21 campaign, the defender opened the scoring on Boxing Day in a 2-1 win over Luton Town.

Moving the club back into the top six with a win, he would double his tally a month later in an emphatic 3-1 win over promotion rivals Bournemouth.

Finishing the campaign with 28 appearances, Reading would end up seventh after a poor second half to the season.

Sheffield United

The first of two mammoth moments over Easter 2022, McIntyre popped up with two goals to earn four points and Championship survival.

Heading up to the promotion-chasing Blades, nobody had beaten Paul Heckingbottom's side at Bramall Lane since his arrival.

Lucas Joao, a former Sheffield Wednesday favourite, opened the scoring in the first half and Paul Ince's men were hanging on in there.

With what looked to be the last kick of the game, Iliman N'Diaye smothered the ball home to earn what they thought was a point.

Suddenly from the restart, a free-kick was lofted into the box and after a flick on McIntyre got his toe on the ball to prod it past the home keeper to send the travelling contingent behind the goal into dreamland.

Swansea City

Just three days later, Reading enjoyed possibly the most remarkable comeback's in the club's history.

Taking the lead early on through Joao, the Swans blew the Royals away to take an astonishing 4-1 lead into the final 30 minutes.

Tom Ince scored what looked like a consolation hour mark and Joao doubled his tally 10 minutes later to make it game on.

The whole crowd believed and in stoppage time McIntyre connected sweetly with hthe ball to thrash it into the net before wheeling off down the East Stand- almost Graeme Murty-eque (minus Kingsley.)

Ultimately survival was secured mathematically after a 3-0 defeat to Hull City, but the four points picked up on Easter courtesy of the defender were monumental.
