The Royals travel to the Riverside Stadium to face the Boro.

Form

A much-improved Reading side beat Blackpool last time out, as Paul Ince’s side put three past the Tangerines at the Select Car Leasing Stadium.

Tom Ince put the Royals in front, before quick-fire goals near the 70th minute by Andy Carroll and Ince ensured Ince’s side took all three points.

Reading now have two wins in their last three games, with signs of improvement for the Royals in recent weeks.

Paul Ince’s side are unbeaten since November at the Select Car Leasing Stadium with five wins in seven games, as the Royals look to pick up form at the right time in the Championship.

Team News

Paul Ince confirmed in the week that Junior Hoilett will be out for up to eight weeks with a hamstring injury, meaning he will be on the sidelines for today’s game.

Andy Yiadom is set to return to the starting eleven after finishing his suspension for picking up 10 yellow cards.

Ovie Ejaria is set to sit out with an injury, whilst goalkeeper Joe Lumley is unavailable due to coming up against his parent club.

Lucas Joao and Tom Holmes are both back in training but unlikely to feature today.

Last Time Out: Reading 1-0 Middlesbrough; Saturday 20 August 2022

The Royals beat Middlesbrough in the reverse fixture at the Select Car Leasing stadium back in August.

Tyrese Fornah’s first half opener was enough to seal the three points for Paul Ince’s side.
