Reading boss Paul Ince labelled his son's performance against Blackpool as 'incredible' after netting twice.

Thomas Ince scored the first and the third goal against his former side to seal a vital three points for the Royals.

His eighth and ninth strikes of the campaign, his pre-season target of reaching double figures is looking more likely by the minute with 13 matches remaining.

On track to have his best scoring season since 2016/17, when he hit 16 for Derby County, father Paul was full of praise.

"His performances every game have been incredible," his dad beamed. "One thing he’s not really had is the goals. You’ve seen when he was younger, with Derby and Liverpool, he was always scoring goals. He’s gone to different clubs with different managers who want him to play as a right-back rather than a right-winger so he’s not scored as many goals. Under the right manager, like Steve McClaren, he scores goals.

"His record in the Championship of scoring goals is quite good, it was just a case of whether he could get back to that. We saw today, two great finishes."

The 31-year-old is the club's top scorer, and has contributed four assists.
