Reading boss Paul Ince has warned his team not to underestimate struggling Blackpool ahead of Saturday's meet.

The former England and Manchester United captain, who had a spell managing at Bloomfield Road, spoke to the media in the build-up to the clash and has instructed his players to not get complacent despite the Tangerine's lowly league position.

Sat second from bottom in the Championship, veteran boss Mick McCarthy picked up his first win in charge last weekend against Stoke City.

Losing 1-0 to Blackburn Rovers on Tuesday, Ince spoke highly of his former employers.

Reading Chronicle:

"Yes, our home form has been okay but let’s not underestimate this Blackpool team; they’re organise and have a new manager," he said. "It’s a tough game and we can’t be complacent. We’ve all got problems, but they’ve got some very good players. They only went to Blackburn and lost 1-0 so they’re a good side, well organised and hard to beat. We need to be on it. It’s a game where we can’t be complacent, and if we are then we will get beat. I’ve told the players that.

"We’ve given ourselves a good opportunity with 14 games to go. I came in with 14 games to go last season with more points on the board, which shows how we’ve improved the team, and that’s the positive you’ve got to take. We’ve had more clean sheets, more home wins, and our budget has been slashed big time even though at times we’ve been poor and we aren’t playing the way we want to.

"You have to be at it. We haven't got a quality where we can be complacent. For the next 14 games we have to be at it. If we're at it, we'll be fine. If we're not then we will be punished, and that doesn't matter if it's Blackpool, Millwall or Sheffield United, it goes right across the board. The next 14 games we have to be at it."
