Reading youngsters Matthew Rowley and Benjamin Purcell have headed out on non-league loan spells.

Rowley, a regular goalkeeper for Mikele Leigertwood's Under-18s side and on the fringes of Noel Hunt's Under-21s, has joined Bognor Regis until April.

Making his debut on Tuesday in a 1-0 defeat to Hornchurch, the 18-year-old could be a regular for the Rocks in the Sussex-based team's run in.

Meanwhile, 18-year-old Purcell moves to Isthmian Premier League side Kingstonian for the remainder of the season.

In the same division as Bognor Regis, with both sitting mid-table, Wales Under-19 international has regular experience with Hartney Witney and Farnborough in the non-league circuit.

The midfielder also played 90 minutes for Hunt's side in the Berks and Bucks Senior Cup semi-final against Beaconsfield Town.

Kingstonian manager Simon Lane said: "Benj is an exciting prospect and joins us on loan from Reading. A Welsh international with a fantastic array of passing, Iā€™m looking forward to working with him."
