Reading came from a goal behind to beat Rotherham United 2-1.

Here are the player ratings.

Joe Lumley, 6: Solid performance from the goalkeeper. The Millers' headed strike appeared soft but was in the corner. At times slowed the game too much, but set the Royals on numerous counter-attacks.

Junior Hoilett, 5: Quiet game for the wing-back. Got forward much less than usual and crosses were less accurate. Was subbed off at half-time.

Andy Yiadom, 6: Made some daft tackles and picked up his 10th yellow card, rendering him suspended for the next two matches. Drove forward and looked to make something happen in the second half.

Naby Sarr, 6: Not always orthodox but the big centre-half cleared most things that came his way. Threw his body and head in the way of shots to see out a crucial win.

Amadou Mbengue, 6: Another good performance from the youngster. Vital in his role of covering his fellow central defenders, his pace and strength was too much for the Rotherham forwards to handle.

Baba, 5: Looked very nervy whenever he got on the ball, most probably following on from his late mistake on Saturday. Rolled his ankle in the first half, taken off shortly before the break.

Tom McIntyre, 6: The Academy graduate grew into the game in the unnatural position. By the end, he was breaking up and play and keeping the tempo high as the Royals searched for a winner, executing the holding role well.

Jeff Hendrick, 5: Similar to Hoilett, Hendrick did nothing wrong but had a quiet game. Best moment was winning the ball high up and almost being sent clear through by Tom Ince, only for the pass to be too heavy.

Tom Ince, 6: Not his most impactful match for the club, but his energy and drive helped keep the tempo going as the game looked to dwindle.

Shane Long, 5: Again, a quiet evening for the fan favourite. Had little in the way of chances and spent most of the match chasing down lost causes.

Andy Carroll, 8: A goal and an assist for the 'BFG'. Rotherham could not hadnle the former England striker, who took his goal very well to get the ball rolling., Loved dropping deep and added strength to the backline when needed.

Substitutes

Nesta Guinness-Walker, 7: Provided a good attacking outlet on the left-hand side, causing the visitors problems all night. Linked up very well with Femi Azeez in the second half. A big part of the comeback.

Femi Azeez, 8: His addition, twinned with a more attacking set-up after the break, changed the match. His willingnes to run at defenders was something unseen before the break, and the defenders were terrifed. His powerful free-kick was headed home by Carroll and he was a thorn in Matt Taylor's side all night. Must be pushing for a start on Friday.

Tyrese Fornah, 6: Grabbed the all-important winning goal, but his overall performance was solid yet not spectacular. He was willing to drive forward, but at times appeared to almost get in the way of play.
