Reading have appointed Jared Dublin as Head of Scouting.

Dublin, an American who came over to study Football Industries in Liverpool in 2017, has spent the last six years with Championship promotion-chasers Sheffield United in their recruitment team.

Now moving to Berkshire, Dublin will work closely with Head of Football Operations, Mark Bowen, and Director of Recruitment, Brian Carey.

Making it clear during pre-season that he wanted change in the background, manager Paul Ince will no doubt be pleased to see another body through the door to support player recruitment.

During his time with the Blades, Chris Wilder lead the Yorkshire club to the Premier League and a very respectable ninth-placed finish.

Although relegated in their second season, Paul Heckingbottom looks set to return the club to the top-flight, currently sat in second.

An official announcement from the club, said: "Dublin has already started working alongside Director of Recruitment Brian Carey and Head of Football Operations Mark Bowen at Bearwood Park.

"The highly-regarded American arrives from Sheffield United, having spent nearly six years at Bramall Lane in the Blades’ recruitment department.

"After early career experience at Google and SoftLayer, an IBM acquisition company, Dublin arrived on the UK shores to study an MBA in Football Industries from the University of Liverpool. Having earned his qualification, the American took his next steps in football joining Sheffield United’s recruitment department in 2017."
