Reading boss Paul Ince admitted that he was still hopeful of bringing in a free agent before the end of the season.
The transfer window slammed shut on Tuesday, with just one addition and two youngsters heading out on loan completing the movement.
Leaving the former England captain disappointed, with Ince aiming to bring in two midfielders, he admitted that he is still looking around in the free agent market.
Speaking before a clash with Watford, Ince said: "I will try and get one out again, hopefully that might free up something for us. Now we’re in the situation where we’re looking at free agents because the market is shut. If we can bring one in, then it will be on a free. I’ll keep you informed. If we don’t then we don’t."
It has been well documented that in order to bring any new faces into the club, one or more will need to leave as the squad is at its maximum of 25 players.
Stating that none were close to leaving, the former Blackburn Rovers manager called it 'the dullest transfer month of my life.'
