New Reading midfielder Cesare Casadei has given supporters an idea of what to expect after his loan switch from Chelsea.

The 20-year-old, who cost the Blues in the region of £12m last summer, is yet to play competitive first team football, but arrives as an Italian Under-21 international with pedigree at Inter Milan.

Speaking to the club after his official arrival, the youngster explained that he is a 'box-to-box' midfielder who is looking forward to getting underway in the Championship.

"I like to be a box-to-box midfielder. And I try to both attack and defend. I want to play in in more parts of the pitch and this is a great opportunity for me.

“I am very happy to get the chance to play competitive football…and the Championship is very competitive I know!  But I feel ready for that. I can’t wait to start.”

Like boss Paul Ince, Casadei has spent time at the San Siro with the Nerazzurri.

Ince spent two years in Milan,he made over 50 appearances and reached the UEFA Cup Final.

Not something he knew before he arrived, Casadei is looking forward to learning under the former England captain.

“I only learned yesterday that the manager used to play for Inter Milan. It’s a good thing – I’m sure he can teach me a lot and I am ready to learn,” Casadei said.

“I always watched English football since I was a child. And it has always been my dream to play in England. That’s why I’m very excited to start playing."
