Reading exited the FA Cup with a 3-1 defeat to giants Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Here are the player ratings.

Joe Lumley, 6: Distribution poor throughout but the Middlesbrough loanee made some good saves and could do little about the three goals.

Reading Chronicle:

Junior Hoilett, 6: Saw plenty of the ball and should have opened the scoring in the first half when dispossessing Tyrell Malacia. Did little, if anything, wrong.

Andy Yiadom, 6: Solid performance. The captain did everything he needed to do but occasionally could have done with better decision making.

Tom Holmes, 7: The vice captain was a human wall for the most part, throwing his body and head in the way of everything. Saw the second goal deflect off of his head, but he did try to clear it- little he could have done.

Tom McIntyre, 6: Got better as the game went on, but looked a tad lost on the occasion early on. Decent overall performance.

Reading Chronicle:

Baba, 5: Really struggled against the Red Devils. Antony had the beating of him all night and the Chelsea loanee never knew whether to get tight or drop off.

Mamadou Loum, 5: Another who failed to get up to speed with the match. Saw passes go astray and lost possession on more than one occasion.

Jeff Hendrick, 6: A solid performance from the midfielder. Kept things ticking over and rarely lost the ball.

Tom Ince, 6: Improved as the match went on. Not at his best but still looked bright and the most likely to create.

Reading Chronicle:

Lucas Joao, 5: Largely ineffective at Old Trafford. He saw little of the ball and lost it mostly when he did receive it.

Andy Carroll, 5: Similar to Joao, he saw little of the ball. Was much better with the ball, but let his teammates down with two poor decisions to get sent off.

Substitutions

Dean Bouzanis, 6: Came on and did nothing wrong, but had little to do.

Michael Craig, 6: Tidy player but had little impact. Valuable minutes for the youngster.

Tyrese Fornah, 6: Wasted a glorious opportunity to pull a second back but kept things ticking over.

Reading Chronicle:

Amadou Mbengue, 7: A very good cameo from the defender. Great moment to see him score in front of the 3,000 travelling fans, but good all-round performance.

Shane Long, 6: Ran hard and looked to get in behind. Game was done before he got on.
