Former Reading boss Nigel Adkins is amongst the favourites for the Forest Green Rovers job, according to bookmakers.

The 57-year-old, who has been out of a job for over a year since leaving Charlton Athletic, has vast experience in the third tier.

A Premier League manager with the Royals and Southampton, who he took from League One to the top-flight, he has also taken charge of the likes of Hull City and Sheffield United.

He took charge of 80 matches with Reading from 2013 until 2014, losing his job after a 6-0 defeat to Birmingham City.
