Reading boss Paul Ince was on the BBC Match of the Day panel as sex noises rung out during coverage of the FA Cup clash between Liverpool and Wolves.

Ince, who played for both the Reds and Wolves, was sat alongside fellow former England stars Gary Lineker and Danny Murphy when porn noises were set off, leaving the trio shellshocked and the country in tears of laughter.

Eventually subsiding, and Liverpool running out 1-0 winners at Molineux, it became a running theme throughout the evening.

Phrases such as "Harvey Elliott’s goal was a screamer, which is not the only one we’ve had tonight!” kept the joke alive, with the programme and presenter Lineker trending on social media long into the night.

Presenter Lineker even joked that it could have been Ince himself, with the boss taking it in jest and laughing it off.

Taking to Twitter, Lineker revealed that a phone was found taped to the back of the set, calling it 'amusing' and 'the best fun I've had in years.'

The former Everton and Barcelona forward ended the evening on Newsnight and the BBC were forced to apologise, saying: "We apologise to any viewers offended during the live coverage of the football this evening. We are investigating how this happened.”
