In a hectic summer of upheaval, 13 first-team players left and 13 players arrived.
From Champions League outfits to the fourth tier, let's see how they are getting on.
Rafael- Cruzeiro
A popular figure in his three-years with the Royals, he won Player of the Season in his debut campaign.
That was as good as it got, and he played just six matches last season- including the humiliating FA Cup exit to non-league Kidderminster Harriers.
His contract was terminated by mutual consent in January 2022 and he moved home to Brazil, where he is in the second tier.
John Swift- West Brom
A key figure for the club in his six years for Reading, he contributed almost 30 goal contributions during his final campaign.
Moving on a free transfer to Championship rivals West Brom in the summer, he is one of the biggest attacking sources in the division.
The season has not gone the way they would have expected at the Baggies, but they are on the up under Carlos Corberan.
Josh Laurent- Stoke City
Player of the Season in his debut year with Reading, the midfielder was a popular figure in his short stay at the club.
Moving on to the Potters, they have started below par but the former Shrewsbury Town player has become a regular with the Staffordshire outfit.
Andy Rinomhota- Cardiff City
An Academy graduate with Reading, the midfielder played almost 150 times but moved on to the Welsh capital with Cardiff City.
Picking up an injury against the Royals in August, the Leeds-born star has played more than 20 times in the first phase of the season.
Orjan Nyland- RB Leipzig
Only arriving on a short-term deal, the Norway international played 10 times before release.
Incredibly, the 32-year-old has fallen upwards and has joined RB Leipzig in the Champions League.
Michael Morrison- Portsmouth
Racking up over 100 appearances for Reading in three years, he was a regular up until his release in the summer.
Approaching 700 career appearances, the central defender joined League One Portsmouth in the summer where he was been a mainstay since.
Ethan Bristow- Tranmere Rovers
Starting as the left-back last season, the youngster was released and dropped to the fourth tier to become a starter with the Birkenhead side.
One goal in 17 starts, he has gone from strength to strength, finding a home at Prenton Park.
Terell Thomas- Charlton Athletic
Another who arrived on a short-term deal, centre-back Thomas played a handful of times at the back end of the season.
Trialling at Football League clubs over the summer, including Portsmouth, the former AFC Wimbledon defender rocked up at the Valley and penned a one-year deal.
Scoring once, he found the back of the net in an incredible 4-4 draw with Ipswich Town last month.

Felipe Araruna- n/a
One of the unluckiest players to pull on a Reading shirt, the Brazilian managed just six matches in 18 months with the club due to picking up horrendous injuries.
Missing almost the entirety of last season, he made him comeback in the defeat to Kidderminster but lasted barely 10 minutes before being stretchered off with yet another injury.
Still yet to find a club, the full-back has managed 34 career appearances in five years.
Alen Halilovic- Rijeka
Arriving with a decent reputation after spells with Dinamo Zagreb, Barcelona and AC Milan, the Croatian international played 11 times and scored once in the blue and white of Reading.
Not a free agent for long, the midfielder went home and has signed for top-flight team Rijeka.
Brandon Barker- Omonia
Another who went from Reading release to European football, the 26-year-old joined the Royals in February and made four cameos under Paul Ince.
The former England youth international was not kept on for this season and now plays in Cyrpus- starting for Omonia against Manchester United recently.
Lynford Sackey- Bolton Wanderers
The Academy graduate is yet to play a game of first team league football but played twice in the League Cup for Reading in 2020 and 2021.
Leaving in the summer, the 19-year-old has followed Bristow to the North-West, signing for Bolton Wanderers where he plays for their B-Team.
