Reading benefitted from a last gasp own-goal to beat Hull City on Humberside for the first time in 28 years.

Here are the player ratings.

Reading Chronicle:

Adam Bouzanis, 6: A solid game for the Aussie, there was nothing he could do about the goal conceded. Made a few good saves but also could have cost another goal with a dangerous slip.

Junior Hoilett, 7: The Canada international was a constant threat down the right-hand side, delivering a good corner for Yakou Meite's equaliser.

Andy Yiadom, 7: Supported Hoilett well and looked to get forward wherever possible. Considering he was playing more centrally than usual, he put in a good shift.

Tom Holmes, 7: Similar to Yiadom, the vice-captain did nothing wrong. Always a good sign when the defender is seen less than opther players, he got on with his job and did it comfortably.

Reading Chronicle:

Amadou Mbengue, 8: A stand-out performance from the youngster, hos pace was vital for the support of the back three. Won his tackles and played some eye-catching switches of play.

Baba, 7: Similar to Hoilett on the opposite flank, was a constant threat and was looking to support the forwards.

Jeff Hendrick, 6: Did absolutely nothing wrong, a solid performer in the midfield. Big calls for him to be sent off after a tackle on Ryan Woods, but the experienced star handled the rest of the game well on a booking.

Tyrese Fornah, 6: A bundle of energy, the Nottingham Forest midfielder got everywhere. Could have put his foot on the ball a bit more but kept up with the game well.

Reading Chronicle:

Tom Ince, 6: A quiet game for the key midfielder, he did get the vital cross in for the late winner. Full of running but saw the ball less than usual.

Shane Long, 6: Did what Long does, non-stop running to hustle and harry the defenders. Saw little in the way of goalmouth action but did his job.

Yakou Meite, 7: The Ivorian did what Long did, but was in the right place at the right times to put the ball in the net for the equaliser.

Substitutes

Mamadou Loum, 6: Kept things ticking over when he came on, tightening up the midfield.

Reading Chronicle:

Andy Carroll, 7: All you can ask is that your subs make an impact, and Carroll did. Held the ball well and got the final touch before Ryan Longman put the ball past his own goalkeeper in added time.

Lucas Joao, 7: Came on and did what he needed to do. He put his body in the way and ran himself hard for the final 20 minutes.
