Reading travel to Turf Moor for the first time in seven years this weekend, as high-flying Burnley host the Royals.
Here are five players who played for both in the last 20 years.
Glen Little
A fan favourite at both clubs, the tricky winger has been part of legendary teams in Lancashire and Berkshire.
Joining the Clarets from Glentoran in 1997, he spent the next seven years in Burnley, playing almost 300 times in the second and third tiers.
He had three spells with Reading, two of which were on loan, but he is best known for his four year stint from 2004 until 2008 in which he was a key part of Steve Coppell's record-breaking team of 2005/06.
Scoring five times that season, including his famous lob over Plymouth Argyle, he is still seen regularly in RG2 with BBC Berkshire.
John Oster
An experienced middfielder with the likes of Sunderland and Grimsby Town, a short spell with Burnley, which yielded 18 appearances and no goals, preceeded his move to Berkshire.
A teammate of Little's at Reading, John Oster arrived in the summer of 2005 and chipped in with eight goal contributions in 41 appearances, mainly from the bench, as the Royals romped to promotion.
A squad member until relegation in 2008, he was a regular for Doncaster Rovers and retired in 2015.
Andre Bikey
Starting his decade long association with English football at Reading, Coppell originally took the defender on loan before spendigng over £1,000,000 to bring him from Locomotiv Moscow in 2007.
A key player, especially after relegation back to the Championship in 2008, the Cameroon international is best known for his stroppy reaction to a red card against Burnley in the play-off semi final in 2009.
Winning promotion that year, Burnley forked out almost £3,000,000 for Bikey that summer, where he played almost 80 times in the next three years.
Dropped in 2011/12 by Eddie Howe, he impressed on loan at Bristol City and Middlesbrough took him for the 2012/13 campaign.
He had one brief forray in English football with Port Vale in 2016/17, but retired in 2019 in India.
Matej Vydra
One of the best Championship goalscorers with Watford and Derby County, his spell with Reading in 2015/16 was a disappointment.
Nine goals in 36 appearances, six of which came in the FA Cup, he would top score in the league just two years later.
Joining Burnley in 2018, his first long-spell at Premier League level, he hit 12 goals in 97 appearances but has been missing with long-term injury.
Jeff Hendrick
Breaking through with Derby, the Republic of Ireland international became one of the biggest stars in the Championship by 2016.
A club record fee of £10,500,000 for Burnley, he was crucial for the next four years as Sean Dyche's side continued to defy the odds, reaching the Europa League group stages in 2018.
Moving to Newcastle Unitred in 2020, he lost his place and has spent this season on loan with Paul Ince's side, scoring once in 16 appearances to date.
