Reading threw away a two goal lead to lose 3-2 against Swansea City.

Here are the player ratings.

Joe Lumley: 6- A wind-up merchant with the fans throughout, the keeper had a decent game. He made a stand-out save with his feet, only for the referee to raise the flag anyway. Considering he is recovering from illness, he can be happy.

Amadou Mbgenue- 6: Started shakily but improved throughout and looked solid enough come the end of the game. A good option at wing-back.

Andy Yiadom: 6- Quiet game by the skippers levels, he was to get injured in the second half and misses the next game through suspension.

Tom Holmes: 6- One of the better performers.  Defence in general had little support from the midfield and were under lots of pressure. Poor defensive header lead to Swansea equaliser.

Tom McIntyre: 6- Similar to Holmes, not a poor individual performance. Plenty of tackles and headers won, including a big block to prevent a fourth in the latter stages.

Junior Hoilett: 6- Been the same for the last few weeks, he looks really good when he’s given the license to be more attacking, being a winger by trade, but the tactics deployed have seen him required much deeper and we’re not seeing the best of the Canada international.

Jeff Hendrick: 5- Midfield is where the team lost the game, with the Royals never really getting a foothold in the game. The Republic of Ireland international brings energy but little else, struggling to impact the game with any passing or runs

Mamadou Loum: 5- His blocked effort on goal lead to Yakou Meite’s opener, but that’s about the extent of the Senegal midfielder’s impact. An improvement on Saturday, however, with his passing finding his teammates on a more regular basis.

Tyrese Fornah: 5- The youngster was full of running and energy early on, making a few runs from deep toward the Swans penalty box, but these were few and far between as the game ran on. Still learning his trade, and by no means a terrible performance, but a forgettable on.

Tom Ince: 6- A well-taken goal was the highlight of the evening as it put the visitors two goals to the good. Created very little for his teammates and set piece delivery was poor throughout, but provided an outlet.

Yakou Meite: 7- Reading’s best performer, a goal and an assist proves hard work pays off. A relentless runner, it would prove frustrating as the game went on with little forward action.

Subs
Baba Rahman: 6-
Did nothing of note positively or negatively.  Looked to get forward where possible, but the hosts were firmly in the ascendancy.

Ovie Ejaria: 6- Neat and tidy but did little to affect the end result.

Lucas Joao: 6- Held the ball up better than in the past and looked bright, was starved of any goalmouth action however.
Andy Carroll: n/a
