Reading cruised to a comfortable win over struggling Huddersfield Town, giving new boss Mark Fotheringham his first defeat.

Here are the player ratings.

Joe Lumley- 6: Always difficult to rate a goalkeeper when they have so little to do, the on-loan stopper should have done better with the Terriers' consolation strike in stopapge time. Frustrating to lose a clean sheet.

Junior Hoilett- 7: Out of position, the Canada international continues to excel at wing-back. Having very little defending to do, the experienced star had lots of opportunities to fly forward in attack. Providing constant threat, particularly in the first half, his crosses were calling out for someone to connect in the middle.

Andy Yiadom- 6: Had another accomplished performance in a back three, however being forced off with an injury in the second half is a real concern with a hectic schedule coming up.

Tom Holmes- 6: A proud moment being passed the captain's armband following Yiadom's deparature, it was a good day at the office for the Academy star. Winning his duels, the 22-year-old could do little with the goal conceded.

Tom McIntyre- 8: One of the Academy graduate's best matches of the season, he looked comfortable in defence and even popped up with a goal. Spraying passes around the pitch and running forward to create overloads, the left-hand side of a back three suited him down to the ground.

Nesta Guinness-Walker- 7: Far and away the youngsters best performance for the Royals, the former AFC Wimbledon star was a constant threat. Question marks had been raised over his defensive capabilities earlier in the season, but he was more than a match for his attacking counterpart and provided an attacking outlet.

Jeff Hendrick- 7: Another who put in arguably his best performance, the Newcastle United loanee kept the midfield ticking over and had a goal- only for it to be chalked off for an own goal.

Sam Hutchinson- 6: Solid performance from the former Sheffield Wednesday favourite. Added some bite in the middle of the park and didn;t give the Terriers' attacking players a moment's rest.

Tom Ince- 7: The man with a V8 engine in-built, he never stops running. Picking up an early assist, the 30-year-old was vital in the final goal too.

Lucas Joao- 6: Relatively quiet day for the striker, he did not find himself in attacking positions too often. Linked up vwell and held the ball up better than he has previously.

Andy Carroll- 6: His first start since his return to the club, Carroll provided a willing runner and an aeriel. Good for him to get 70 minutes in the tank .

Substitutes

Yakou Meite- 6: As always, the fan favourite was full of energy and running. Brilliant to see him get off the mark and hopefully his confidence can carry on throughout the month.

Tyrese Fornah- 6: Kept the ball well and always looked to play forward. Always hard for a midfielder to get into the speed of a game off the bench.

Mamadou Loum- 6: Played less than 15 minutes and did not do a great deal, but added steel and fresh legs into the midfield.
