Reading lost their 100 per cent home record in emphatic circumstances, losing 3-0 to newly promoted Sunderland.

Here are the player ratings.

Joe Lumley: 6- Nothing he could've done about any of the goals, he pulled off a couple of decent saves to keep the score down.

Andy Yiadom: 5- Below par performance from the skipper, although goals came from down the other side of the pitch. As captain, should rally the troops to not give in, unfortunately not the case as too many appeared to be going through the motions.

Tom Holmes: 5- No defender comes out with any credit after conceding three, but Holmes was probably the most solid of the lot. Could've netted with a header in the first half.

Sam Hutchinson: 4- Poorest showing as a Royal for the former Sheffield Wednesday favourite. Failed to engage the attacker early enough for the opening goal and was taken off after 65 minutes.

Tom McIntyre: 3- Struggled the whole evening, exposed at left-back and should've done better for all three goals.

Junior Hoilett: 4- Moved about the pitch throughout the game, the Canada international failed to impose himself in any area.

Tyrese Fornah: 5- Was full of endeavour for the whole 90 minutes but lacked the quality he has shown so far this season. The youngster will learn a lot from the defeat.

Mamadou Loum: 4- Just coming back from an injury, the fan favourite was off the pace and hauled off at half time.

Jeff Hendrick: 3- Virtually anonymous, he was sometimes the deepest player on the pitch. Expected more from someone making their 400th professional appearance.

Tom Ince: 5- As always with Ince, a bundle of energy from start to finish. Didn't do  a great deal though.

Lucas Joao: 3- Never got into the game. Looked as frustrated as the supporters watching the match.

Substitutes

Baba Rahman: 4- Sucked in too high for the third goal, the loanee still has a way to go for full fitness.

Yakou Meite: 5- Added energy and willingness to run, but lacked quality. Could've scored later on.

Michael Craig: n/a- More minutes for the teenager but less than 10.
