Long before the 2022/23 Championship season got underway, eight former second tier regulars were taken away for the pre-season training camp at the England national team base, St George's Park.

Of the eight, seven have since found new clubs for the upcoming season following the news that left-back Brandon Ormonde-Ottewill has moved to Hungary.

Take a look below at where you can find them now.

Brandon Ormonde-Ottewill- Puskas Akademia

Waiting until the second week of September to sort a new club, the 26-year old has penned a one-year contract with 2021 Hungarian top-flight runners up Puskás Akadémia.

Formerly of Arsenal and Swindow Town, he failed to feature for the Royals in Burton-upon-Trent as he picked up an injury during training.

Grant Ward- Blackpool

Appearing against Benfica in the second half of the defeat, Ward was let go shortly after the club's return to Berkshire.

A regular at Ipswich Town, the 27-year-old had been released by Blackpool in 2022, but the Tangerines have since taken him back, but he is only training and has been left out of their EFL squads.

Connor Wickham- Forest Green Rovers

A former Reading Academy star in his early days, the striker netted during pre-season but was let go as the season neared.

Now leading the line for Rovers, the 29-year-old has already hit the back of the net as the Gloucestershire outfit acclimatise to the third tier.

Julian Jeanvier- Auxerre

One of the better performers against Benfica, the central defender impressed on trial after release from Brentford.

Not working out in Berkshire, he opted for a return to France, with the 30-year-old a regular for the Ligue 1 side.

Jacob Davenport- Unattached

The youngest of the trialists at just 23, the midfielder was let go by Blackburn Rovers at the end of last season.

Injury marred much of his time at Ewood Park, with Rovers fans assured of his ability when fit.

After failing to impress with Reading, he went on trial with Scottish Premiership side Hearts, failing to earn a deal at Tynecastle too.

At time of writing, he is the only trialist to have not found himself a club.

Jodi Jones- Oxford United

Another highly-rated talent to suffer with injuries, 24-year-old Jones made almost 100 appearances for Coventry City before damaging his anterior cruciate ligament.

Let go by the Sky Blues in summer 2022, he did not last long with the Royals before being let go.

He has since signed a one-year deal with near-neighbours Oxford United in League One.

Josh Murphy- Oxford United

Perhaps the one with the biggest expectation, Josh was one half of the Muprhy twins which burst onto the scenes with Norwich City as teenagers.

100 appearances for the Canaries prompted Cardiff City to splash more than £10m on the winger.

After almost 100 matches, and flattering to decieve in a lot toward the end, he was let out on loan to Preston North End for the back end of last season.

Failing to impress Lilywhites boss Ryan Lowe, he was released and joined Reading on trial.

He now joins fellow trialist Jones at Oxford United, signing a two-year contract at the Kassam Stadium.

Sam Hutchinson- Reading

The only one to sign for the Royals, the former Sheffield Wednesday stalwart captained the side on more than one ocassion during pre-season.

Injured for the beginning of the campaign, the defender has been undroppable for recent matches, showing his experience and quality at Championship level.
