Reading Chronicle:

Jason Roberts

An icon in Reading, Roberts played more for Blackburn than any other side in his career.

After more than 150 games in Lancashire, he arrived in RG2 in January 2012 where we scored four and set up five in his opening eight fixtures, all of which the team won.

Reading were promoted that season and the-then veteran had notched six.

Scoring in the Captial One Cup the following season, a hip injury blighted his time in Berkshire and he was forced to retire in 2014 after just 29 appearances for the club.

Reading Chronicle:

Hope Akpan

A surprise signing, the Liverpool-born midfielder was signed from League Two Crawley Town as the club were fighting relegation in the Premier League.

Unable to help keep them up, he became a regular over two seasons in the Championship- leaving in 2015 having made over 60 appearances.

Moving directly to Blackburn, he played 66 times for Rovers in two seasons.

Moving down the pyramid since leaving Lancashire, spells with Burton Albion, Bradford City and SJK in Finland, he now plays for Widnes in Northern Premier League Division One West.

Reading Chronicle:

Nick Blackman

Playing three times for Blackburn between 2008-2012, it was with the Royals where Blackman saw the most success.

Moving south from Sheffield United, the midfielder made more than 100 appearances for Reading in four seasons.

He was best known for a pruple patch in 2015, scoring 13 goals in 28 starts and encouraged Derby County to splash a reported £3.5m on the Mancunian.
